REVEREND DR. TERRIS A. KING

Reverend Dr. Terris A. King is the esteemed Pastor of Liberty Grace Church of God and a second-generation ordained Baptist preacher and Pastor. Pastor King is the youngest son of the late Eunice M. King, founder of Liberty Grace Church of God and Trustee Elias King. In 1989, he answered the great call to preach and was ordained in Durham, N.C., by Rev. Z. D. Harris, President of the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Conference. Several years later Rev. King was elevated to the esteemed position of Co-Pastor of Liberty Grace Church of God. Then in August 2008, Pastor Eunice M. King transitioned from earth to heaven, and Rev. Terris A. King was ordained Pastor by Rev. Herman Ford, Pastor Emeritus of the Fountain Baptist Church.

Rev. King is a proud alumnus of Walbrook Senior High School in Baltimore, Maryland from which he graduated in 1978 receiving a scholarship in football to Delaware State College. He furthered his education and athletic career at Towson State University where he played football and graduated with a B.S. degree in Mass Communication in 1984. He attended St. Mary’s Seminary in 1989, and in 1997, he attended Johns Hopkins University where he received his Master’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Science. He received a Senior Executive Fellowship from Harvard University in 1999. He received his Doctorate in Divinity from Saint Thomas College in 2012. He earned a Science Doctorate from Towson University in Occupational Therapy in 2019.

Rev. King has served as a Senior Executive for the federal government since 2000 and was employed by the federal government for over 30 years. He served as Deputy Associate Commissioner of Quality for Social Security, and served in three different executive positions for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) including the Deputy Director of the Office of Clinical Quality, Director of Minority Health and Deputy Chief Information Officer. After retiring from the government, he served as Executive Director of Healthcare at AT&T Government Solutions.

 

Rev King is now CEO of King Enterprise Group LLC, where he provides health care consulting to for-profit and non-profit cooperation. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Family League of Baltimore and is President and CEO of the Grace Foundation the community arm of Liberty Grace Church of God. 

 

He married the former Catherine Laverne Chase on May 23, 1983. Through their union, they have two gifted children: Terris II and Minister Miya, and has two grandsons Christopher and Chase.
